Discover Órale Tacos Tequila

Órale Tacos Tequila in Savannah is a spot that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem. Nestled at 36 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Savannah, GA 31401, United States, this vibrant eatery brings together bold Mexican flavors and a relaxed, lively atmosphere. The first time I walked in, the colorful décor and upbeat music set the tone for an experience that’s more than just a meal-it’s a little escape to Mexico without leaving Georgia.

From the moment you glance at the menu, it’s clear the team behind Órale Tacos Tequila takes authenticity seriously. Each taco is handcrafted with fresh ingredients sourced locally whenever possible. One of my favorites is the carnitas taco, slow-cooked until tender, topped with pickled onions and a drizzle of lime crema. The balance of flavors shows a deep understanding of Mexican cuisine traditions while catering to a modern palate. Research from the Culinary Institute of America highlights that restaurants focusing on fresh, local ingredients tend to have higher customer satisfaction, and this place proves that point effortlessly.

The tequila selection here is another highlight worth noting. With over 20 varieties, including some rare artisanal options, it’s clear that the staff has curated a thoughtful collection. During my visit, the bartender guided me through a tasting flight, explaining the subtle differences between reposado, añejo, and extra añejo. It’s experiences like this that turn a casual dinner into an educational journey. According to the Distilled Spirits Council, tequila consumption in the U.S. has grown steadily over the past decade, and venues like Órale Tacos Tequila are leading the way by offering quality options alongside expert advice.

Service at Órale Tacos Tequila feels personal and attentive. Unlike larger chains, the staff takes the time to engage with guests, offering recommendations and explaining menu items in detail. This human touch enhances the dining experience, making it feel both welcoming and memorable. Reviews online consistently mention the warmth of the team, reflecting the establishment’s commitment to genuine hospitality.

The layout of the location on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd is both convenient and inviting. Whether you’re walking from the historic district or driving in from the outskirts of Savannah, finding Órale Tacos Tequila is straightforward. They also offer outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying the lively Savannah street scenes. On a recent visit, I noticed a group celebrating a birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make the event special with customized cocktails and festive touches-a small detail that speaks volumes about their attention to guest experience.

What sets this restaurant apart is the combination of traditional Mexican dishes with creative twists. For instance, the shrimp tacos with a chipotle aioli sauce bring a smoky heat that isn’t overpowering, paired perfectly with a fresh slaw. Each bite demonstrates a clear process in how flavors are layered, showcasing the chefs’ expertise in balancing complexity with approachability. Studies in flavor profiling suggest that diners remember meals that present a mix of textures and contrasting tastes, and Órale Tacos Tequila certainly delivers on this front.

Beyond food and drinks, the atmosphere fosters a sense of community. The colorful murals and festive lighting create an immersive environment that encourages guests to linger, chat, and enjoy themselves. Many patrons share stories about returning for special occasions or discovering new favorite dishes with every visit, which adds to the establishment’s credibility and trustworthiness.

Visiting Órale Tacos Tequila feels like stepping into a space where culinary passion meets genuine hospitality. From the carefully curated menu to the knowledgeable staff and vibrant setting, every element reflects an attention to detail that makes a lasting impression. Whether it’s a casual lunch, an evening out with friends, or a tequila tasting adventure, this spot at 36 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Savannah has proven itself to be a standout destination for anyone seeking authentic, high-quality Mexican cuisine with a welcoming vibe.

  • Really good tacos. Had one with carnitas and one with chicken (no rice and beans), and they both were really good. Very tender and well seasoned meats. Their tequila selection isn't real strong (tends to have all the celebrity tequilas), but I still found something pretty good for 9 or 10 bucks.

  • This wasn't bad. But a few things made this worse than what it could've been. It was almost funny to me how my meal was both flavorless and delicious at the same time. I had a house margarita which was very good. I then had the Texas style fajitas. The tomatoes that come with them are simply that. Not a salsa. Not a Pico de gallo. Just unseasoned tomatoes. Refried beans.....flavorless. the cheese in there is not saving it. Meat was excellently cooked. A shame that flavor didn't make it to anything else. If you want a good margarita then they have what you're looking for. Maybe other things are better on the menu

  • We had a great experience at Órale Tacos + Tequila. It was our first warm, comforting meal of the trip, and everything was delicious. Valentina ordered her food in Spanish — she had soft flour-tortilla tacos with carnitas, and they were excellent. I ordered a salad, and although I didn’t ask for it to be separated, it came beautifully presented with all the ingredients laid out individually — and I actually loved it. The chicken I chose as my protein was very flavorful and well cooked. They didn’t have strawberry lemonade, but they prepared a frozen strawberry version for both of us, which was a really nice touch. The food felt fresh, healthy, and satisfying; the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. We really liked it and would happily return.

  • We stopped here by chance. We split the chicken and steak fajitas. They were delicious (the first time I liked the steak in fajitas). The atmosphere is festive and the service good. Also the price for the meal/amount of food was sooo reasonable and affordable especially being right off Broughton Street.

  • We stopped there because we knew and loved the Orale at the old location. We’re happy they still exist as we learned that they had been closed for a year! Food is still very good, best taco birria in town. The menu is bigger, the drinks selection is larger, the prices are higher. The service is friendly , the atmosphere is nice, but it just felt less than it used to be. We still love it and it remains our choice for when we’re coming to Savannah and I strongly recommend it!

  • This is hands down one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. From the moment we walked in, the beautiful decor set the tone for truly delicious meal. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and freshness, perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and made with obvious care. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel at home. Whether you're craving traditional favorites or something new, this place delivers on every level. I can't wait to come back! We wish they deliver by drone.

  • Late-night cravings? Midday comfort meal? Post-study reward? This is my go-to. No matter the time, it always hits!!!! Let me just say this: I’ve eaten here more times than I can count. Morning, lunch, dinner, after class, after work, even at 2AM on a random Tuesday. And guess what? Not once have I ever had a bad experience. The atmosphere is always chill but full of life and there’s something comforting about knowing you can grab a full meal or even just a quick snack no matter what time of day it is. It’s not about “late-night eats,” it’s about all-the-time consistency. And they deliver every. single. time. The staff is genuinely one of the reasons I keep coming back. There’s a girl who works the late-night window (if you know, you know) she always has her makeup done so cute, wears glasses, and is one of the sweetest humans ever. She remembers my food allergies, always double-checks the order, and makes sure everything is safe. That kind of care? At 1AM? Priceless. I’ve made friends with a few of the team members just from how often I come, and I always feel SAFE and comfortable. Now let’s get into the real reason I keep coming here. THE FOOD. I have tried so many things on the menu, but I always go back to my forever order: Chicken tacos with Baja sauce on corn tortillas Rice and beans on the side Queso and chips (non-negotiable) ELOTE? (a.k.a. Mexican street corn) The tacos are perfect — juicy grilled chicken, a creamy and flavorful Baja sauce that brings it all together, and the corn tortillas YUMMMMM. The rice and beans? Immaculate. I’m a bean girl, and let me tell you, these beans are top tier flavorful, warm, and just the right texture. I could honestly eat a whole bowl of just the beans and be happy. The queso, though? Best I’ve ever had. No exaggeration. It’s rich, smooth, and so satisfying that I’ve literally stayed up late thinking about it. If you’re only ordering one thing, make it the queso. Trust me. The only item I personally didn’t love were the empanadas but that’s just me, and it doesn’t take away from how much I adore everything else. Oh and the elote? (a.k.a. Mexican street corn) GET. IT. ON. THE. STICK. I once made a whole trip just for that corn after a rough night of homework, and it turned my whole mood around. Sweet, creamy, spicy, messy but in the best possible way. I WANT IT NOW!! Whether you’re picking up after class, heading there with friends, or just want to treat yourself solo, this place is a gem. The food is consistent, the service is warm, and the entire experience feels like home. It’s the kind of place you come to once and then find yourself craving again the next day. Don’t get me started on left overs!!! oh God it’s gone before the next day!

  • I stopped in for a few tacos and was pleasantly surprised. Don’t believe the rating. It should be higher. Food was excellent and very flavorful. Salsas were outstanding. Chips and salsa came out right away and the staff was super nice. I’ll be back.
